RESEARCH JOURNAL

SN Training College is engaged in environmental education of the common people in Anjengo.

Our Biannual Journal ‘Gurujyothi Research and reflections’ started in 2007, released two issues and the third one will be released in September 2008. The latest edition of the interdisciplinary biannual journal sets out to consider the wide ranged perspectives on different aspects of education by an array of inquisitive minds. The current issue allowed for an outpouring of teenage expression on space science as well as a well authentic channelling energy for teachers towards professionalism by a resourceful educator Dr. S.Lekshmi, now redoubled with the potential of making a difference, changing someone's mind, making a mark on society. From an educational point of view, this suggests that we should now be directly interested in the content of what all levels of people have to say and engage with it fully.

Third issue dealt in detail about the current trends in teacher education. Dr. Bindhu. R.L unveils the current status of teachers emphasizing that teachers deserve more societal praise and support than they are receiving now and revamping and professionalization of teaching will enhance the prestige of teaching leading to greater public confidence in teachers. The study attempted to identify the acquisition of basic computational skills among primary school students by Dr. Celine Pereira and Sheeba Krishnan revealed that out of the four basic computational skills, the performance of students

in addition is very high and very low in the case of subtraction. Sobha, Dr.Rajith, Sreekala, Pramod G. Nair, Dr. Sindhya, Dr. Ajay Singh Ruhal, Dr. Suresh Kutty and Anurag Pandey have contributed their own views towards methodologies for studying the new 'space' of educational research with the aim of making their outcomes widely available and exemplifying the variety of possible styles of exploration.

The latest issue in February 2009, addresses the spiritualistic dimensions of education by Swamy Thanmaya and elaborated education as a bipolar process will be effective only to the extent that the deepest seats of consciousness are brought reciprocally into relationship as between the teacher and the student. Sri. Praveen identified a workable strategy that not only guarantees actual student performance in ICT-enabled learning but also helps in marshalling student capability building by making learners to attempt website content scanning and content critiquing. Impact of information communication technology in teaching general science at secondary level was analyzed by Anand and revealed that implementation of ICT in science learning influenced student’s psychological aspects and develop a positive attitude towards ICT among students. The other researchers who reflected their views include Deepa, Dr.Hemaletha, Sony Mary Varghese, Jaushua, Anil and Khaleef which make the journal worthwhile.
