Educational psychology is included in Teacher education to provide the basic knowledge of child psychology to the future teachers so that they are able to carry out their role in school effectively. It also give some idea regarding the practical aspects of psychology like testing the different personality traits including intelligence, personality, aptitude, adjustment, attitude, creativity, etc. Inorder to fulfill this aim of teacher education, our college is also having a well equipped lab in psychology and it is functioning in a full-fledged manner. Our students have conducted tests to measure the intelligence of high school students in various practicing schools during their teaching practice. All of our students are aware of the use of psychology lab and they are very keen too. Through the use of this lab, they could do their practical works( practicum) in psychology meaningfully, which would have been futile if there is no such a lab. The only limitation we are experiencing, as every teacher education institution faces today is the lack of sufficient time to conduct all practicals in psychology. We are so particular in maintaining the standard of our institution and psychology lab is only a part of the other infrastructure facilities in the college. The lab consists of test items to measure intelligence, aptitude, attitude, adjustment, creativity, interest, concept formation, values and personality. The list of test materials is attached. |
